Engraving allows us to draw attention to the verticality and horizontality of objects, to light and lighting, since we scrape dark colors to bring out light colors on the surface. It also allows us to obtain various textures thanks to the object used for the scratching and thanks to the mixture of colors.
The intensity of the scratching therefore makes it possible to have the desired spatiality in the drawing.
