While scraping on a black background, it actually carries traces of both the existing texture of Galata that we try to reflect and also the scraping tools. Different tools allow us to scrape different areas on the surface, creating spaces of different volumes, textures and lights. Even though we can’t see the whole thing afterwards, our eyes can complete the remaining picture with the scrapings on the surface. Engravings of different prints and sizes give us information about what is stand out in the view.
