week9_engraving

In the engraving work, I used only one tool to scratch the paper. This tool allowed me to have different sharps and scrapes while using it in the different positions. In order to express different depths and distances in the landscape, I chose to scratch in different directions. For example for the background view I used mostly the horizontal scratches and for the buildings in the front view I used mostly vertical scratches

One of the critical potentials of engraving is to find repetitive elements and include them while you are digging. Also scratching with sharp tools allows us to produce images with knife-edged boundaries. Likewise, it is not always necessary to produce sharp boundaries, softer excavations can be made by using a different/softer edge of the tool or a different tool.
