The size of the tool I use helps me establish perspective perception on paper. Clouds are scratched with large surfaces and structures on the horizon with finer-tipped surfaces or the corners of tools.
Hand movement and pressure level allow to give information about the texture of the surface. Clouds are scratched with less pressure and more free hand movements, reflecting their organic structure and texture.
When the building facades are scraped with hard and distinctive moves, more distinctive surfaces can be obtained.
