once paint meets the water it is free and restricted at the same time. First it looks random but it is in fact directed by gravity but we don’t always do it on purpose as the third element in this work is paper and water does not allow paper to stay still. So there are 4 elements in motion: water, paint, brush and paper. In timelapse, clouds do not move as separate units but as a shapeshifting whole so do watercolor. Just like water accumulates in a particular part of a cloud and in a matter of time it will be landing to the ground as rain, paint does the same when it hits the water. But if there is too much water on paper paint loses its control and covers all the area like a sudden rainstorm. Representing a timelapse is still challenging as watercolor takes time to dry. Layering is tough but paint allows later changes so when you put some water on an almost dry painting you can brush some of the paint away and create a light effect.
