The sketch is the way to get out of the mind’s cave where the line between what is already and what is yet to be is not conceivable. These two different aspects of the sketch cannot be generated without the other. It is no longer a discovery if it only depicts what is already. The conception path that leads to the ‘idea’ is a path of internal struggle.
